Why Worms?
It seems as though everywhere you look, people have been talking about composting, recycling, and other various “green” ideas for some time now. Now it appears the new hot topic is composting using worm farms.
Worm composting allows you to not only dispose of organic waste in an environmentally friendly way, but it also has beneficial returns. Organic fertilizers like vermicompost and castings are byproducts of the worm farm. These are very rich in nutrients and good for the soil.
If you maintain your farm appropriately, it will produce more and more worms. This will increase your output of fertilizer as well as increase the need for food scraps. This also gives you the opportunity to increase the size of your farm, sell the excess worms, and/or sell any excess fertilizer that you may have.
Worm farms have to ability to not only help the environment, but also help your pocket book.
