Read and Quiz your short term memory

There are many exercises for short term memory but what I find to serve two purposes with one activity is reading. By reading a short story, a chapter in a novel, a poem, or an article, you are educating yourself and expanding your horizons. In that same time, you could be giving yourself a short term memory test. When you are finished reading, ask yourself detailed questions about what you read. You will have to recall the information and you will also becoming more comprehensive about the literature. Don’t try to remember everything you read verbatim, but the more you remember and comprehend the better off your short term memory will be.

Consider taking a communication skills workshop

Communication skills are among the most important of all social skills.  Many people are already very good communicators and use these skills to help them achieve success in their business and personal lives.  However, most of use could use some improvement in this area.  There are many different techniques used in the process of interpersonal communication - negotiators and leaders learn that their ability to close deals, get what they want, and get people to do as they ask are dependent on how effectively they can communicate their wishes and understand what their counterpart or counterparts is or are thinking.  Body language nonverbal communication is a big part of this particular aspect of communication skills - being able to "read" people's body language and figure out what they are thinking is a huge advantage in negotiating.  So, the next time you are given the opportunity, consider taking a communication skills workshop - you will very likely be quite glad that you did.

Bible Concordances: A Bible Study Must-Have

It does not matter what type of Bible study method you have chose to employ, bible concordances are a must-have tool in order to be successful. A Bible concordance is simply an index of words that list each and every verse in the Bible where that term is written. Let us say we were reading about John the Baptist and we wanted to learn more about how "baptisms" were completed. Using a Bible concordance we could look up the word, "baptism" and, after reading the suggested verses, we would discover that baptisms did not always involve water. The apostles, for example, were baptized with the Holy Spirit in the form of fire. We probably would have never made the connection without the concordance.
